Let’s get it!

The Ingredients

Air fryers have taken homemade pizzas to another level. It adds a lot of crispness to the crust, taste, and deliciousness.

To make air-fried pizza, you’ll need the following ingredients:

  • Pizza dough
  • Toppings (capsicum, tomato, baby corn, mushrooms, pepperoni, olives)
  • Freshly shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Cheddar cheese
  • Pizza sauce (15 oz.) or tomato sauce (1 cup)
  • Chopped basil

You can make your dough at home or get the pizza base from the store. Once you arrange all these ingredients, carefully follow the instructions below:

Directions For Cooking

  • Dough preparation: Preheat your air fryer to 370 degrees F. Take the pizza dough and roll out a crust that is 6 inches each. Prick the pizza dough with the tines of a fork. This step would allow the air to pass through the dough easily.
  • Into the Air Fryer’s Basket: Next, spray the basket with olive oil. Carefully lift the crust and set it into the air fryer’s basket.
  • Bake Crust: Cook the crust in the air fryer at 370 degrees F for 5 minutes. Then flip the side and cook for another 5 minutes. (After 30 seconds, check the crust to ensure it hasn’t flipped or folded in half.)
  • Add Toppings: Add capsicum, tomato, baby corn, mushrooms, olives, pepperoni, chicken, or all the toppings you like. Stir fry the toppings, including chicken and vegetables, on the stove on low, medium heat before adding them on top of the crust.
  • Add Cheese: Then add the cheese in the last step to enhance the stability of the toppings. It keeps the topping in place and prevents them from blowing up in the air fryer basket. Then, cook the pizzas for another 7 minutes or until the crust gets perfectly brown.
  • Serve & Enjoy: Top the pizza with your favorite toppings. To add more spice to your pizza, you can add parsley, basil leaves, oregano, and chili flakes.

Tips for A Perfect Air-Fried Pizza

Here are some tips for making the perfect pizza in your air fryer:

  • Mozzarella prevents the pizza from getting soggy and losing its taste. Freshly shredded mozzarella works best for air-fried pizza.
  • Pizza Dough: If you use the store-bought base, get the fresh one. And if you like to make the dough from scratch, make it the night before. Place it in a covered bowl in the refrigerator to rise. Preparing dough a day ahead saves you time and rises perfectly well.
  • Prepare sauce: Also, you might prepare your pizza sauce a few days in advance. You can prepare the tomato sauce, marinara, and basil sauce. Homemade sauces give a more organic blend to the pizzas.
  • Using Small Round Crusts: Use a rolling pin to roll the dough to the required thickness. Instead of making big round dough that folds up in the air fryer, make smaller-sized crusts so they can fit easily. 6 to 8 inches of crust sizes are perfect for air fryers.

Air fryer or Microwave: Which One is Better for Reheating Pizza?

Pizzas that are air-fried are superior to those that are microwaved. There is no need to be concerned about paper, tinfoil, or anything like that. Plus air fryer cook pizza much faster than the oven.

When you reheat the pizza in the microwave, the crust becomes mushy, firm, and rubbery. The air fryer prevents it and offers a more crispy crust and evenly cooked pizza.

Special Tips

Always construct your pizza in the air fryer basket. Transferring an uncooked pizza that has previously been topped is… tricky.

Remove the baked pizza from the basket with two pairs of tongs (or two spatulas). It takes some concentration, but the payoff is significant: all of the toppings stay on the pizza rather than on the bottom of your air fryer.

Here’s why this will be the finest pizza you’ve ever tasted at home!

  • The pressurized warm air helps the pizza dough rise quickly, resulting in those enormous air bubbles that we’ve all grown to associate with excellent crust. The dough becomes light and airy on the inside, with a lovely crust on the outside.
  • Because the dough is air fried, it resembles a savory funnel cake or elephant ear.

  • And, because this is sitting on your counter, you can free up your oven for some Cinnamon Roll Dessert Pizza!
