Why Use An Air Fryer?

Air fryer cooking has made eating healthily easier because you may avoid drizzling oil on your food.

By employing a heating element and a fan to cook food, air fryers use heat and hot air to circulate, which helps the food cook and become crisp. Cooking can be done at temperatures as high as 400°F/200°C with air fryers. Even at greater temperatures, certain air fryers may cook very efficiently.

That makes it simple to prepare food quickly and easily while feeding a large group of people. In my opinion, the appetizers that need the least amount of work and are prepared quickly are the best. Both criteria are met by these pigs in a blanket.

What Is the Function of an Air Fryer?

Cooking using Air Fryers has made it simpler to eat better without completely immersing your items in oil.

Air fryers cook meals by circulating heat and hot air through a heating element and a fan, and this circulation of heat and hot air is what helps cook and crisp the food.

Air fryers can cook at temperatures as high as 400°F/200°C. Some air fryers can even cook at increased temperatures.

When you’re cooking for a party and need something quick and easy, this simplifies things.

What Are Pigs in a Blanket?

Pigs in a blanket are a smaller version of wrapped hot dogs. In the US, they are typically created using homemade biscuits, pizza, or Crescent dough wrapped around small hot dogs.

Pigs in a blanket are typically sausages or hotdogs wrapped in bacon in the United Kingdom. These cute crowd-pleasers are excellent appetizers or snacks for gatherings with family and friends.

Whether you make them with miniature hot dogs or regular-sized hot dogs, they are always delicious.

How to Make Pigs in a Blanket in an Air Fryer?

  • Start by bringing your Air Fryer’s temperature up to 350F for three minutes, or as directed by the manufacturer.
  • Roll out the crescent dough gently on a piece of parchment paper or a clean surface after opening the can.
  • Gently separate each triangle, then arrange them on the parchment paper.
  • Put a hot dog on one of the triangles of crescent-shaped dough.
  • Wrap the dough around the hot dog until it completely encircles it and covers the majority of its surface. You should leave each end open and dough-free.
  • Continue until all eight of your hot dogs are wrapped. Place them on a dish or tray with parchment paper inside. In between batches, store them in the refrigerator.
  • Utilizing a set of tongs, move your pigs in a blanket to the air fryer. If you have an oven-style air fryer, you might be able to fit all eight.
  • Back in the oven at 350°F for 5-8 minutes, or until golden and puffy, place the air fryer basket.
  • They were completed at the five-minute mark, even though my air fryer runs a little hot.
  • Tongs are needed to remove the Pigs in a Blanket from the air fryer. Repeat with the other 4 wrapped hot dogs, then place them on a platter or serving tray.

Tips for Making Pigs in a Blanket

The crescent roll must be sliced once the dough has been unrolled to create the ideal pigs in a blanket. Two pigs in a blanket can be made out of one crescent roll.

You simply need to cut each crescent roll in half lengthwise as you unroll the dough. You will have enough dough left over to make 16 smoked sausages with this.

Once each sausage has been rolled, the next step is to cover the air fryer basket with a little olive oil cooking spray before adding the pigs to a blanket.

I like to apply another layer of cooking spray to the top. After finishing, secure the air fryer’s lid and cook for 5-8 minutes at 390 degrees.

Because every air fryer heats up differently, check on them after five minutes. I discovered that whereas the first batch I cooked took 8 minutes without preheating the air fryer, the second batch only took around 5 minutes.

Melted butter should be brushed over the dough before bagel seasoning is added to the top of the dough.
