Why choose Air Fryer Twice Baked Potatoes Over Other Procedures?

At first, I used an air fryer to cut calories from my diet and to cook more healthy foods.

I eventually came to value my air fryer for what it is. It reduces calories because food only requires a tiny amount of fat to be cooked, but it also works as a small oven.

Because they are cooked twice—once to bake the potato and again after being filled with cheesy mashed potatoes—they are known as twice baked potatoes.

But with the introduction of the air fryer, the scenario has altered. The air fryer may cut the number of calories in fried meals by up to 80%, which makes it a far healthier alternative to produce a crisp with very little oil.

Let’s get started!

  • 3 Potatoes
  • 1 tbsp. olive oil
  • 2 tbsp. unsalted butter
  • 1/4 tbsp. ground black pepper
  • 1/2 cup fried Ham
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese at room temperature
  • 2 tbsp. plain yogurt
  • 2 tbsp. fresh milk
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp. Paprika
  • 2 tbsp. green onion
  • 1 cup cheese

  • Step 1: Wash the potatoes well with water and dry them. Brush all sides of the potatoes with oil. We will bake Potatoes in an Air fryer, place them in an Air fryer basket and bake for 1 hour at 180 degrees or until tender.
  • Step 2: Check the potatoes with a knife if sufficiently cooked, cut each potato in half lengthwise. Scoop out the potato, and be careful not to tear the potato shell.
  • Step 3: Use a fork to mash the potatoes. From the 3 big potatoes, I made 1 cup mashed potatoes, add butter and mix well, and now add cream cheese, yogurt, and milk. Add milk gradually to ensure the consistency of the mixture.
  • Step 4: Add Ham, black pepper, cheese, and salt and mix them until all ingredients are incorporated.
  • Step 5: Fill the potato shell with the mixtures, top each potato with grated cheese, and sprinkle with paprika.
  • Step 6: Air fry for 7 minutes at 180 degrees or until golden brown
  • Step 7: Garnish with spring onion

There are so many options for toppings! You can add the toppings before or after the second baking.

  • Cheese: parmesan, cheddar, and pepper jack
  • Meat: diced ham, cooked sausage, and bacon pieces
  • Vegetables: steamed broccoli, green onions, mushrooms, and minced garlic
  • Other: French-fried onions, sour cream, black beans, salsa, and mac and cheese

  • To prevent uneven cooking of the potatoes, Do not overload your air fryer.
  • Select the best variety of potatoes. The starchy or floury variety of potatoes works best in the air fryer. They frequently yield fluffy insides and extremely crispy exteriors.
  • Dry your potatoes well, making sure there is no trace of moisture left on them.
  • Apply an oil spray to your potatoes after they have dried. For cooking in an air fryer, oil spray works best.

Cheddar cheese is what I used to make my twice-baked potatoes. However, cheeses with distinct flavors, like Swiss or Monterey Jack, can also be added.

Why are they referred to as twice-baked potatoes?

Because these potatoes have been cooked twice. You bake them whole first, then fill the potato shells with the mashed potato mixture and bake them again.
