For those who prefer something a little different, cherry pie bombs are a delicious substitute for traditional cherry pies. The best thing about these small desserts is that you only need a muffin tin—no other kitchen equipment is required!

Cherry pie is one of America’s favorite desserts because it combines the delicious flavor of cherries with a flaky butter crust. Serve with a heaping scoop of ice cream for a truly American dessert feel.

A Cherry pie bomb is a simple pie made with a sweet filling. I used canned pie filling because it simplifies the recipe. However, you can easily substitute fresh cherry pie filling for this.

The most tiring part of making a homemade cherry pie is pitting the cherries. This is why I always use canned pie filling.

You can also make the same recipe with homemade cherry pie filling. The recipe will still work.

Can You Make Cherry Pie Bombs In An Air Fryer?

Making simple recipes in my Air Fryer has changed everything. It’s a quick and easy way to make every meal perfect. I also appreciate how the air fryer takes over, does all the laborious work for me, and creates very little mess.

These Air Fryer Cherry Pie Bombs are easy to make with only four simple ingredients. A delicious dessert that everyone will adore can be ready in just a few minutes.

These are equally as good and simpler. Refrigerated biscuit dough and canned cherry pie filling are used to make these Cherry Pie Bombs. They are ideal for an easy dessert that will satisfy any crowd.

These rich and sweet cherry pie biscuits can be made at home by anyone who enjoys baking. They have a generous amount of cherry pie filling and are beautifully glazed.

  • Biscuit: Find a can of Pillsbury Grand biscuits if you’re craving cherry pie bombs but don’t buy the flaky layers variety. They cook in the air fryer to a nice golden brown color, making this dessert incredibly simple to prepare. You can also prepare them with crescent roll dough, puff pastry dough, or pie crust dough without the cinnamon. The cooking times may differ slightly if you use a different type of dough.
  • Filling: The first step includes a cup of cherry pie filling.
  • Melted butter: Before putting the pie bombs in the air fryer, brush the outsides with melted butter. The cooking spray would also work, but I prefer the flavor of butter.
  • Glaze: Confectioners’ sugar and milk are used to make the straightforward glaze. The glaze is optional, but I prefer the sweetness it adds to the pie bombs. They can either be dipped in glaze or have it drizzled on them!

Directions to Make Air Fryer Cherry Pie Bombs

  1. In a bowl, combine the sugar and cinnamon. Place aside.
  2. Peel each biscuit into two layers after removing it from the can. Roll each layer into a 4-inch circle with a rolling pin to create 16 circles of pies.
  3. Each circle should have a tablespoon of cherry pie filling in the center.
  4. Roll them into balls after pinching the sides to seal them.
  5. Here are some recommended oils for your air fryer. Spray your air fryer with a nonstick cooking spray.
  6. You might need to make several batches. Distribute the balls into the air fryer basket at a distance of about 2 inches.
  7. Spray your cooking spray on the balls’ tops.
  8. They should be golden brown after 8 to 9 minutes of air frying at 350 degrees.
  9. Air Fryer Cherry Pie Bombs should be carefully removed from the air fryer, rolled in the cinnamon and sugar mixture, and served.

How Much Pie Filling Should I Add To The Dough?

Don’t overfill your dough, even if you love cherries as I do. You only need one tablespoon to get that fantastic flavor without the mess.

The pie filling will overflow if fully loaded in the pan, especially when we use extra juicy fruit fillings. Place the filled pie pan on a baking sheet to prevent minor spills and make moving the pie in and out of the oven simpler.

Toppings On Cherry Pie Bombs

To add flavor without adding more sugar, use dried spices or flavor extracts.

Of course, there are always options for toppings! They’re small, but there’s always room for more toppings.

If desired, top with whipped cream and chocolate chips, or sprinkle with powdered sugar. These are also delicious with vanilla ice cream. So delicious!

Adding more flavor is a quick and easy way to give your cherry pie filling a homemade taste. To add flavor without adding more sugar, use dried spices or flavor extracts.

Begin by adding a teaspoon of vanilla or almond extract. Then experiment with cinnamon, ginger, cloves, or nutmeg.

What Is The Procedure For Freezing Air Fryer Homemade Cherry Pie?

The pie can be frozen as well. Once the cherry pie has reached room temperature, tightly package it. In the freezer, it can last for about a month.

The cherry pie should be refrigerated until it thaws before being served. Even before serving it, you can reheat it in the air fryer.

Place Cherry Pie Bombs on a baking sheet covered with wax paper after removing them from the muffin tin (do not glaze). When completely frozen, freeze for 4-6 hours before storing for up to 3 months in an airtight container or zippered bag.

To avoid freezer burn, make sure to double-wrap them.

Is Air Fryer Useful When It Comes To Making Desserts?

The best thing about using the air fryer to make desserts is that I never get surprised by the results. Because the airflow and temperature are constant and steady, they are cooked to perfection.

Everyone enjoys this sweet treat because it’s a quick and simple recipe, and using the air fryer is one of the favorite ways to simplify life.

This cherry dessert has a nice crunch on the outside and a soft, sweet interior. I’ve made this recipe a few dozen times to make sure it’s not a fluke, just to be safe.

Which Canned Biscuits Should I Use?

There is no predetermined type; simply choose what you choose. I prefer the Grands size biscuits, but you may also use canned pie crust dough to create this.

Air Fryer Cherry Pie Bombs are a delicious and simple air fryer snack. They cook quickly and make tasty snacks for any gathering.

Can I Stack Them On Top of Each Other In The Air Fryer To Cook?

These are best fried one layer at a time; the second batch can be cooked while the first is cooling (and being eaten by everyone who smells them).

It may be tempting if you like cherry as much as I do, but don’t overfill your dough. Just one tablespoon will provide that delicious flavor without the mess.

Concluding Notes

  • You should drain the cherries so that none of the extra juice soaks into the crust. Depending on the pie filling you choose, they may already be saturated.
  • Purchase pie filling of superior quality. Choose one that is natural and typically has less sugar.
  • When baking your pie in the air fryer, the egg wash gives it a brown hue.
  • You must cut a few tiny slits in your pie to allow the steam to escape.
  • It’s a quick and simple recipe, and using the air fryer is one of the favorite ways to simplify life.
